It's my goal to foster an inclusive space here at The Daily Waist – regardless of your gender identity, age, size, race, sexual orientation, and so forth.
One of the main ways to substantiate this inclusivity is with photos. Image rights can be very complicated, so my go-to is to pull from photoshoots in which I participated. Though sometimes I art direct, more often, I model. As a white-passing, cisgender, petite, femme (queer) woman, I know that there's nothing much subversive about photos of myself... so I'd like your help in broadening the types of images I have to pull from.
If you are a corset maker or model who would like to share some images of diverse models, I would love to share them! Please make sure you have permission from your photographer. I'll be sharing credits information, of course, in the caption below each image. Send your contributions to firstname.lastname@example.org. (More info about submissions here!)
Verbally, I'll also do my best to use inclusive and up-to-date language. As a queer woman, I know how maddening it can be to find gendered language where it needn't be. If my vocabulary is out of date, or I slip up here and there, I ask your forgiveness... and you can comment with the error so I can work to update it.
Lastly, if you have an idea for a guest post that showcases a unique point of view, let's discuss it! Once again, I'll direct you to email@example.com. Give me a quick overview of your idea, your background, and why you think it's a good fit.
